Meeting Minutes
Little Town Hall
September 24, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Select Board Chair Robert Edwards in the Little Town Hall.

Members Present: Michael Genest, Robert Edwards, John Robertson
Staff Present: Donna Hanson, Town Administrator; Diane Chauncey, Tax Collector
Others Present: St. Jean Auctioneers

  • Agenda Items:
  • Mr. Robertson moved to approve the Minutes of September 10, 2018. Mr. Genest seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Genest moved to approve the Non-Public Minutes of September 10, 2018. Mr. Robertson seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Edwards introduced James and Jay St. Jean to discuss the process of an auction for town owned properties. After reviewing the properties it was determined the auction will likely take place in November. Mr. Genest moved to go forward with the auction. Mr. Robertson seconded. Passed 3/0.
  • Mr. Robertson moved to recommend Fire Chief Gale Marshall as Health Officer. Mr. Genest seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Genest attended the Park & Recreation meeting. Recreation Director Celeste Lunetta is planning her staff for next year. Ms. Hanson will follow up with Ms. Lunetta.
  • Mr. Robertson reported that he attended a meeting with School Superintendent Kimberly Saunders and John Jordan where they discussed ways to make the Selectmen’s Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings more efficient. The SAC committee would like to comprise a committee regarding implementation planning for the consolidation of schools which is a possible warrant article for the School Board.
  • Mr. Genest moved to not approve any construction including blasting on Sunday’s at the Wind Farm. Mr. Robertson seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Genest moved to hire Sophie Beausoleil as the assistant to the Police department for 28 hours and 12 hours assistant to the Prosecutor. Benefits will be prorated with the prosecutor. Mr. Robertson second. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Robertson moved to authorize Chief Lester to replace Officer Guinard with a certified full time officer. Mr. Genest seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Edwards moved to authorize Chief Lester to hire a full time 6th police officer in the department. Mr. Robertson seconded. Mr. Genest opposed. Passed 2/1.
  • Ms. Hanson will schedule a meeting on Thursday September 27th with Holden Engineering to discuss the last change order for Highland Ave/Pleasant Street.
  • Mr. Robertson moved to adjourn. Mr. Genest seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 pm.
